Itineraries

Day 01

Arrival in Delhi

Delhi is fast gaining popularity as a global city. Here, one can find old architectutral marvels juxtaposed with modern architectural wonders. After relaxing for a while, get ready for a city tour. The first visit of the day is to Red Fort, popularly known as Lal Quila (closed on Monday). The foundation of this colossal structure was laid down by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and the construction of the fort took 9 years. Made in red sandstone, it has 2 main massive gates. It is a great example of Mughal opulence. Next you visit Jama Masjid, around 500 m away from Red Fort. The biggest mosque of India, it was commissioned by Shah Jahan in the 16th century. This stunning white marble and sandstone structure can accommodate about 25,000 worshippers at a time and has relics written on its gates. Later on, enjoy a drive past the India Gate and the Rashtrapati Bhavan (President House) Stay overnight in Delhi.

Day 02

Delhi – Agra

After breakfast your journey continues to another historical and romantic city of Agra. Thereafter proceed to visit Taj Mahal built by Mughal Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his beloved Queen Mumtaz Mahal. Continue the tour visiting the Agra Fort containing the Royal residential palaces, the Halls of Public and Private Audience and beautiful gardens. Overnight stay in Agra

Day 03

Agra – Jaipur

After breakfast proceed to tour the majestic Amber Fort. The fort is situated on top of the Amber Hill. Later, stop for photos at the Lake Palace (Jal Mahal) and the Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal). Then, visit the Maharaja's City Palace, the royal residence of the erstwhile King of Jaipur. After that, visit Jantar Mantar Observatory, an astronomical observation site from the 18th century, and also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, have lunch in a hotel restaurant and enjoy free time for shopping in Jaipur. Later in the afternoon, you will drive back to Delhi and get dropped off at either the airport, the railway station, your hotel or another desired location in Delhi.

Day 04

Jaipur – Orchha

After Jaipur, the next destination would be Jhansi. Early in the morning, you would be transferred to the railway station. From there, board the next train to Jhansi (215 km away). On arriving Jhansi, you would be embarking on a road trip to Orchha (18 km away). Once a princely state, Orchha lies in the Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh. The town of Orchha was founded in 15th century AD and in today's world it is renowned for its numerous temples, palaces and forts. Highly popular amongst them are the Jehangir Mahal of Orchha (Classic Mughal architecture), Raj Mahal and Laxmi Narayan temple (mural paintings). As you would be done visiting the attractions of Orchha, get back on the road to Khajuraho (172 km away). On arrival at Khajuraho, you would be checking into a prebooked hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 05

Orchha – Khajuraho

Today, enjoy a day sightseeing of Khajuraho. The beautiful temples that dot the town of Khajuraho are highly sensual and erotic and much has already been discussed their symbolic importance. Visit the Western Group of Temples -the Kandariya Mahadeo is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the largest of Khajuraho's temples. The Lakshmana Temple is one of the oldest and finest of the western group of temples. The temple of Devi Jagdamba is considered by many to be one of the most erotic temples of Khajuraho. It houses Khajuraho's most talked-about images of mithuna, the sensuously carved figures. Later, visit the Eastern Group of Temples- The temple of Parsvanath is the largest of the Jain temples in Khajuraho India and the finest…without any sexual motifs.

Day 06

Khajuraho – Varanasi

An early morning boat ride in the sacred Ganga River would be arranged for you. After breakfast, leave for Sarnath (6 km away). Sarnath in the northeast of Varanasi is where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. A highly sacred Buddhist religious place, Sarnath lies at the confluence of two rivers-Ganga and Gomati. Popular attractions here are Dhamek Stupa, Sarnath Museum and Chaukhandi Stupa. Post that return back to Varanasi. In Varanasi, you would be visiting Alamgir mosque, Dashashwamedh ghat and Bharat Mata temple. Also known as Beni Madhav Ka Darera, Alamgir mosque is a brilliant example of Hindu and Mughal architecture. The mosque is situated on the banks of Ganges river. The city of Varanasi is known for its religious ghats. Most spectacular amongst them is the Dashashwamedh ghat, which is located close to the Vishwanath temple. Overnight stay at Varanasi.

Day 07

Varanasi-Delhi

Right after your breakfast, you would be transferred to the Varanasi airport for your return journey back to Delhi. As you will reach Delhi, check in to a prebooked hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Explore the nearby surroundings in the evening if you wish to.

Day 08

Delhi Departure

This brings the end of our wonderful tour. Post breakfast at the hotel, guests would be transferred to the International airport for their onward journey back home.
