Arrive Hubli Badami (110 kms/3 hrs)Arrive at Hubli airport and our driver will receive you at the airport. He will assist you in getting transferred to Badami. Reach Badami, check in the booked hotel and relax for the day. Overnight in Badami.
BadamiToday we take a tour of Badami. We will be visiting several temples dating from the Chalukyas' period in Badami. First set of temples is a group of four on a hill adjacent to the Bhutanatha Tank, dating back to the 5th century. In the adjacent wall there is a carving of the cosmic dance of Shiva Natarajan depicted with eighteen arms. The second temple bears images of Vishnu in his Varaha & Trivikrama incarnations. The third is a rock cut temple with inscriptions dating to 578 AD, belong to the period of Kiritivarma Chalukyas. There are carved images of the Narasimha & Trivikrama avataras of Vishnu. Further up is a Jain rock cut temple dedicated to the Tirthankara Adinath with inscriptions dating back to the 12th century. The Mallikarjuna temple dating 11th century is on a star shaped plan. Later, we visit Bhutanath Temple facing the Agastya Lake to catch the sunset. In the evening return and stay overnight in the hotel.
Badami - Aihole - Pattadakal - BadamiIn the morning, after breakfast, we will visit Aihole and Pattadakal. In Aihole, we will visit Durga Temple, Lad Khan Temple, Meguti Temple, Ravanphadi Cave, Gowda Temple, Huchimalli Temple, Suryanarayan Temple and Konti group of Temples. Pattadakal is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with around 10 temples that portray a perfect blend of Indian architectural styles. After exploring the Papanatha Temple, and the other ancient temples of Pattadakal. Return to your hotel in Badami.
Badami - Hampi (150 kms/3 hrs)After breakfast, check out and get driven to Hampi, the capital city of the Vijaynagar Empire. Founded by Harihara & Bukka in 1336, it fell to the Muslim rulers in 1565 after the disastrous Battle of Talikota, subsequently lapsed into decline & abandonment. The once proud city of victory is now a city of desolation. Reach Hampi and check in the hotel. Evening will be at leisure. Overnight stay in Hampi
HampiToday we go on the tour of Hemakuta group of monuments, Sacred area and Hampi by the River. The following places will be covered: Mustard seed Ganesha Hemakuta Group of Monuments Virupaksha temple bazaar walk Achutaraya temple River side walk and Coracle boat ride Kings Balance Vittala temple complex . We take break for lunch and post lunch continue our exploration of Hampi’s ruins with a tour of Royal City Area and Sunset at Malyavantha Hill for sunset. The following monuments will be covered. Queens Bath Steep tank Great platform – Mahanavami debba Hazararama temple Queens enclosure – Lotus Mahal & Elephant stable Malyavantha Hill The tour ends and the driver will receive you from the Hampi Bazaar and transport back to your hotel for the night.
Hampi - Sirsi (240 kms/5 hrs)After early breakfast, check out and leave for Sirsi. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and relax. In the evening we will visit Goddess Marikamba Temple at Sirsi, which is built back in 16th century. It is listed among one of the major attractions of Sirsi and a significant worship place in Karnataka. The temple houses a big idol of Goddess that is approximately seven feet tall. Afterwards, we will visit Shri Gopalakrishna Temple and Maha Ganapathi temple located nearby Marikamba Temple. Return back to the hotel for night stay.
SirsiToday we go on an excursion to Yana Caves, home to an epic trail of limestone formations and black karst structures. And the Vibhooti Falls these 30 feet falls offer spectacular views of the bamboo forests and mangroves they are nestled in. On the way back to Sirsi we will visit Sahasralinga. It is a stunning location in Western Ghats where hundreds of Lingas are carved in stone in Shalmala River in North Canara. If have time in hand, we will also visit Sri Madhukeshwara Temple or Sonda Vadiraja Mutt at Banavasi. Drive back to Sirsi, and spend the night in the booked hotel.
Sirsi - Chikmagalur (260 kms/5-6 hrs)After breakfast, check out and get driven to Chikmagalur. On the way we will visit Jog Falls, which is about 63 kms away and counted among one of the major tourist places in Karnataka known for its abundant natural beauty. It is India's second-highest waterfall and also named as Jogada Gundi and Gersoppa Falls. Continue towards Chikmagalur. Upon arrival, check in the hotel. Relax for the day and stay overnight.
Chikmagalur - Halebeid -Belur - Mangalore (210 kms/4-5 hrs)After breakfast in the morning, check out and we will drive to Mangalore. On the way explore the Hebbe falls, Lakshmi Narayan Temple, and Hoyasaleshwara Temple at Helebid, built by Kettuvallam, during 1121 AD, dedicated to Lord Siva, having two shrines connected by pillared walls & in each shrine is a Lingam, Hoyasaleshwara & Shanthaleshwara. We also visit the Chennakeshawa Temple at Belur, built in the year 1117 AD to celebrate Hoysala military victories & it took over a hundred years to complete. Stories from the Purans, Upanishads & other mythological sources have been executed in the most exquisite & authentic detail, tales from Ramayana & Mahabharata. After exploring these temples, proceed towards Mangalore and stay overnight in the booked hotel at Mangalore.
MangaloreToday we start the day with visit to St. Aloyusis Chapel, Lighthouse Hill, and Someshwar Beach. In the later half we will visit the Sammian Shetty’s Butterfly Park, Kateel Temple and Pannambur Beach. Evening attend Cultural dance show (only if available on those dates). Return back to the hotel and stay overnight.
Mangalore - Fly back home…After breakfast, check out and start your tour with visit to Cashew nuts factory. The hometown of cashew product in India is Mangalore with having largest producer and exporter in the world. You will gain knowledge about the production process in your 45-minute visit. Mangalore has a rich cultural background as continuing with the Kadri Manjunath Temple which traces back to about 1068. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, this temple houses a statue made of bronze.
